Visit Tampa for Open-Air Adventures

Tampa sits at the heart of Florida’s Gulf Coast, a bustling city filled with open-air fun. If you’re looking for a fun family getaway, Tampa has everything you could desire. Although COVID-19 has changed some aspects of visiting Tampa, you’ll still find that the Southern hospitality is as warm and sunny as the weather. Speaking of the weather, thanks to near-perfect temperatures all year long, Tampa has plenty of outdoor options for fun and adventure. Here’s the current status of a few of Tampa’s most well known attractions (but check individual websites for up-to-date operations information before you go!). And with a van from Carl’s Van Rentals, you’ll be ready to see the sights!

Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay’s largest attraction, is now open. Reservations are required, and all guests over the age of 2 are required to wear face masks. Guests can expect social distancing at queues, hand sanitizing stations pre- and post-ride, staff wearing PPE, and temperature checks. Heart-stopping rides and adrenaline rushes are still included!

The Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium opened its doors to the public with additional barriers, one-way flow experiences, social distancing signage, staff wearing PPE, and updated capacity restrictions. Guests are required to wear a face mask and make reservations in advance to view the over 9,000 marine animals.

ZooTampa at Lowry Park

ZooTampa at Lowry Park is open at 50% capacity. Changes include thermal monitoring stations at a single point of entry, on-premise EMTs, staff wearing PPE, and physical distancing signage. Reservations are strongly recommended because general admission is now on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear face masks, and masks are provided free of charge upon request.

The Tampa Museum of Art

Founded in 1920, the Tampa Museum of Art hosts one of the largest collections of Roman and Greek art in the United States, plus a huge collection of modern art. The museum has reopened with regular hours of operation, limited capacity, physical distancing, staff member temperature checks and PPE. There is also a wellness station with masks, gloves, and tissues for guests’ use.
