Visit Fort De Soto Park with your Van Rental

When you’re in the Tampa area, you can’t miss out on spending some time at Fort De Soto Park. The scenery is breathtaking, and the drive to the island is worth the break from inland activities and theme parks. Your van rental from Carl’s Van Rentals makes for an easy trip in one vehicle for your entire group.

Location

Fort De Soto Park is located south of St. Petersburg in Pinellas County. It is about a 40-minute drive from Tampa. When you arrive at the beach, parking will cost $5 per vehicle. This is another reason that a passenger van rental is a great idea when traveling with a large group. There are parking fees nearly everywhere you go, so fewer cars means fewer parking and gasoline expenses.

Fort De Soto Park has over seven miles of waterfront and three miles of sandy beach. Picnic shelters are available to reserve if you’re going to be staying at the park all day, and camping areas are also available if you plan to stay overnight on the island.

There are seven miles of paved trails to enjoy on foot or by bike. If swimming is of interest, there are two swim centers watched by lifeguards from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from March to September. Two fishing piers are open from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. with food and bait concessions at both.

Renting a Van in Florida

When you rent a vehicle on your Florida vacation, you have the freedom to travel on your own schedule instead of relying on public transportation schedules. Worse yet, your group could get separated while using a bus or shuttle. Carl’s Van Rentals provides the solution with reliable van rentals. With vehicles seating from seven to fifteen passengers, you’re sure to find one to suit your needs. Contact us at 800-565-5211 or 813-872-7111 for further details, or make a reservation online.
