3 Must-Know Policies about Orlando Rentals

Not everyone appreciates rules or guidelines. However, at Carl’s Van Rentals, we find they’re necessary for maintaining our fleet so you can have reliable and affordable rentals. Before you pick up your van from our Orlando location, be sure to read through these three rental requirements.

1. Forms of payment

Okay…this is an important one, especially for our cash-paying customers. Carl’s does accept cash, debit, and pre-paid card payments. However, you must call our office ahead of time to make arrangements. Our policies differ slightly for our customers using cash, debit, or a pre-paid card, which is why we have you call ahead. We don’t want you to be surprised by the additional guidelines.

If you want to avoid additional policies, then you can always pay by major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express). Also, please remember that personal checks are not an acceptable form of payment.

2. Insurance

In order to rent a van, you must have at least $50,000 in liability coverage (that is able to be transferred to the van rental). You must also be able to provide proof of insurance. If your policy doesn’t fully cover the $50,000 requirement, Carl’s does offer supplemental insurance that you can select when you make your reservation.

3. Drivers license

You must hold a valid U.S. drivers license—and it must be in one piece and legible! We know that sounds ridiculous, but you wouldn’t believe the number of cracks, torn, or worn IDs we get around here. If you’re international, you can rent a van but must be able to show your passport, your international drivers license (preferred but no required), and purchase our Personal Protection Plan coverage, both for your safety and ours.

These policies aren’t the only ones we have at our Orlando location, but they’re three you don’t want to overlook. To find out more about these or other rental requirements, check out all our policies, or contact our staff at (407) 856-8866. We can answer your questions and tell you about your minivan, passenger van, Jeep, and even convertible rental options. However, if you’re ready to make a reservation, you can book online anytime.
