When visiting Orlando, FL, the theme park capital of the United States, it’s easy to spend a lot of money on vacation. Those admission tickets, park food, souvenirs, and lodging really add up quickly. However, not everything in Orlando costs money. Our staff here at Carl’s Van Rentals want to pass along a few of our favorite free activities in the city.

Orlando Wetlands Park
Orlando Wetlands Park

1. Orlando Wetlands Park

The Orlando Wetlands Park is a little gem inside the city. The wetlands are designed to preserve indigenous wildlife and plants, but they offer visitors an enjoyable outdoor experience. You can go for a scenic drive in your Jeep rental, or take a walk on more than 20 miles of roads and wetland trails to explore. You can do some wildlife viewing, with hundreds of species of birds, butterflies, alligators, turtles, bobcats, snakes, and more spread throughout the wetlands.

2. Downtown Disney

Not everything Disney will cost you! In fact, you can spend time at the Downtown Disney District without even spending a dime. Yes, there are plenty of opportunities to purchase souvenirs or a meal, but it doesn’t cost to get in and enjoy the atmosphere. Even parking is free if you stick to their guidelines. Downtown Disney is home to fun restaurants, entertainment, unique shops, and some quality people watching.

3. CityArts Factory

If you’re looking for a little art and culture, then check out the CityArts Factory, located in downtown Orlando. The CityArts Factory is known for its multiple galleries featuring both local and international works. The galleries are always featuring new pieces as their exhibits rotate monthly. Admission to CityArts Factory is free Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
