Sunscreen There's nothing like a day at the beach: The sound of waves crashing against the shore, the smell of salt in the air, and the feel of sand between your toes. But before you can enjoy all that the beach has to offer, there's one very important item you need to pack: sunscreen! Sunscreen is essential for protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays, and the higher the SPF, the more protection. 2. Towels and Beach Blankets Towels and a beach blanket make for a perfect day at the beach. The towel can be used to dry off after a dip in the ocean, and the blanket can be used to lay on while soaking up the sun. That's why a waterproof camera is an essential item for any beach day. Have some fun snapping pictures in silly poses or playing in the water with the kids. Simply pack it away in your bag for safekeeping when you're done. 5. Snacks and Drinks A day at the beach wouldn't be complete without a cooler packed full of snacks and drinks. When it comes to beach snacks, there are endless possibilities. But for the ultimate beach experience, you can't go wrong with a few classics: sandwiches, chips, fruit, and of course, ice cream.
